A note from our Co-Chairs We were pleased to formally welcome four new Board members at our Annual Meeting: Dwight Hoster, Lindsey Chadderdon, Ann Mathew, and Kayla Waldrup. Each has already been active in our committees and has demonstrated strong commitment to the organization. We are confident they will be excellent additions to the Board and look forward to working with them. As they ascend into their new roles, we also wish our departing Committee Chairs well; Dwight has stepped down as our Programs Committee Chair but will stay on as a general Board member, and Laurel Klein-Lachenmayr has stepped down as our Scholarships and Grants Committee Chair. Lindsey and Kayla are the new co-Chairs of the Programs Committee. Ann is taking over the Scholarship and Grants Committee. We extend our sincere thanks to Laurel, Dwight, Lindsey, Ann, and Kayla for their past and future service on the Board of Directors! For those interested in becoming more engaged with SWEP, joining a committee or assisting with events are excellent ways to get involved! February Board Updates
February was a busy month for meetings. We had our monthly Board meeting on the 19th. Updates from this meeting included some more ideas for updates to our website; these included maintaining a Jobs Board, posting sponsor logos, and accessibility and security for our member directory. The committees were active as well; both the DEI and Programs Committees announced events and plans for the year. The most exciting update was that our Grants applications for this year are open! Check them out, and send the link to anyone you think should apply! The Scholarship applications will be opening on March 9th. |

Last month, we asked you what your favorite wintertime activity was. While the most popular response was "Are you nuts? I'm not going outside in this! I'll be curled up inside with 5,472 blankets. 🥶," the next most popular option was a tie between sledding and skiing/snowboarding. |
