SWEP Announces its 2015 Upcoming Green Smarts Party please join us to Celebrate!!
Thursday, April 23, 2015, Registration at 5:30 program from 6 to 8 PM at CityCoHo at 2401 Walnut Street, 2nd Floor Conference Rm, Philadelphia, PA
Each year SWEP of Greater Philadelphia awards Scholarships and Grants that are designed to help fund students working towards careers in the environmental profession and organizations or programs that creatively address a locally-defined need to create, enhance, restore, or protect the natural environment or to increase environmental of local girls and/or women in the sciences, engineering, or environmental fields.
The Green Smarts party is held to recognize and celebrate the wonderful women and organizations selected for our graduate scholarships and community grants. Registration is free for SWEP members, and $20 for non-members. Questions, contact Elaine Feldman eff102@earthlink.net
THIS YEAR’S GRANT AWARDEES:
Nebinger School, Water Shed Storm Water Management Program will be awarded $2000.
Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge’s “HATS OFF TO BATS!” An Environmental Leadership Program for Girls will be awarded $1000.
Envirothons: In addition, SWEP will again sponsor the annual Envirothons in each of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties.
THIS YEAR’S SCHOLARSHIP AWARDEES:
Bianca Reo, University of Pennsylvania, Biology/Ecology PhD Candidate,
Earned a MS from Villanova and a BS from Princeton
Lauren Parker, University of Pennsylvania, Dual MS Candidate in City Planning and Urban Spatial Analytics,
Earned a BS from William and Mary
