SWEP 2016 Green Smarts Party

Please join us to Celebrate!!

 

Date and Time: Wednesday, April 20, 2016, Registration at 5:30;  Program from 6 to 8 PM

 

Location:  At Greenberg Traurig, LLP, 2700 Two Commerce Square, 2001 Market Street, Philadelphia

 

Registration is free for SWEP members and $20 for non-members.   

Preregistration is required for security check-in

 

Each year SWEP of Greater Philadelphia awards Scholarships and Grants that are designed to help fund students working towards careers in the environmental profession and organizations or programs that creatively address a locally-defined need to create, enhance, restore, or protect the natural environment or to increase environmental of local girls and/or women in the sciences, engineering, or environmental fields. 

 

The Green Smarts party is held to recognize and celebrate the wonderful women and organizations selected for our graduate scholarships and community grants.

This year’s Grant Awardees:

 

Green Valleys Watershed Association, at Welkinweir   After School Nature Explorers Club at Pottstown Middle School, for winter 2017, will be awarded $1200. 

 

Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ, Inc. "Refill not Landfill" Program will be awarded $1000

 

Envirothons:

SWEP will again sponsor the annual Envirothons in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties.

 

This year’s Scholarship Awardees:

Meghan J. O’Donnell, Drexel University, Master of Science in Environmental Policy candidate

Currently Staff Scientist at Academy of Natural Sciences.

Kathryn McNamara, Drexel University, Master of Public Health candidate;

Focus on Environmental and Occupational Health.
