Emerging Contaminants Seminar
SWEP GP is excited to announce its first emerging contaminant seminar being hosted at Eurofins Lancaster. Come join us for the educational and networking event as we talk about emerging contaminants. We have guest speakers from across the industry ready to share their expertise on the varying contaminants of concern that have started to make headlines more frequently. Topics of discussion include but are not limited to microplastics, 6PPD/6PPD-q, PFAS, and the potential for so much more!

Presentations will be a combination of in-person and virtual presenting to provide greater opportunities for experts from across the U.S. to provide their knowledge and perspectives on emerging contaminant(s) in the industry.

Presenters -
- Sanjay Shah, Gina Moreno, and Dan Millemann (in-person) with NJDEP on current state perspectives and research related to microplastics with implications for environmental and human health; tire wear particles and 6PPDQ (6PPD-quinone) will also be discussed as a case study/subset of microplastics.
- Giselle Mazmanian (virtual) with Manko, Gold, Katcher, and Fox LLP on legal perspectives surrounding emerging contaminants, such as, common challenges; rulemaking processes; and litigation pitfalls.
- Jeremy Conkle Ph.D., (in-person) with DBRC on Monitoring and Reducing Microplastics in the Delaware River Estuary.
- Rachel Esbenshade (in-person) with Ramboll Group on Microplastics, Biodiversity, and the Circular Economy.
- Brianna Henriquez (in-person) and Andrew Patterson (virtual) with Eurofins on microplastics, 6PPDQ, and air analysis.
- Lindsay Boone (virtual) with Pace Analytical on PFAS Test Method Comparison of EPA 1633 vs. EPA 8327/ASTM D8421/D8535.
- Linda Logan (tentatively in-person) with Terraphase Engineering to give a brief overview of ITRC's activities related to emerging contaminants.
